Durablock® is an additional performance technology that laminates a durable liquid barrier to a textile treated with Nano-Tex®.

GREENSHIELD® GreenShield is a low-fluorocarbon nanoparticle based finish that provides water & oil repellency and stain resistance in a single finish. The nanoparticle technology utilizes 10 times less fluorocarbons than other finishes, contains no PFOS or PFOA fluorochemicals and is a non-emitter, releasing no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). GreenShield permanently adheres to a fabric in a mesh network that prevents the particles from becoming airborne and does not change the fabrics natural look or feel.

INCASE BY CRYPTON® INCASE fabric protection powered by Crypton® is a stain, odor and silver microbial-resistant treatment that is perfect for applications where a moisture barrier isn’t necessary.

Mayer Moisture Barrier A new and innovative healthcare soil and stain-repellent, Mayer Moisture Barrier inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, fungus, and mildew.

Cleaning Codes

(W)

Water-Based Cleaner. Use only water-based cleaning agents such as Resolve Upholstery Cleaner. Or mix 2 tablespoons of ammonia or ammoniated detergent, such as Ajax liquid, to 1 quart of water. Blot the stain gently with a cloth dampened with this solution. Continue turning the cloth so you’re always using a clean portion.

(S)

Solvent Cleaner. Spot clean, using a mild water free solvent or dry cleaning product. Clean only in a well ventilated room and avoid any product containing carbon tetrachloride or other toxic materials. Pretest small area before proceeding.

(WS)

Water/Solvent Cleaner. Spot Clean with a mild solvent, an upholstery shampoo or the foam from a mild detergent. When using a solvent or dry cleaning product, follow instructions carefully and clean only in a well-ventilated room. Avoid any product that contains tetrachloride or other toxic materials. With any method, pretest a small area before proceeding.

(SW)

See WS.

(X)

Vacuum Only. Clean this fabric only by vacuuming or light brushing to prevent accumulation of dust and grime. Water-based foam cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive shrinking, staining, or distortion of the surface pile and therefore, should not be used.

(D)

Dry Clean Only. These recommendations and codes were developed by fabric specialists. However, because of the various ways that fabric can be stained or damaged, there is no guarantee that the results will be completely successful. Use of suggested methods are your own responsibility. To help prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Use a professional furniture cleaning service when an overall soiled condition has been reached.

(C)

Generally stains are removed with plain water and powdered enzyme detergent. Upholstery foam shampoo, water-based cleaning products and germicidal detergents can be used. Be sure to remove all residue from cleaning products with clean water. Do not use solvent-based cleaners or dry cleaning products. For the best cleaning solutions, use Crypton® Upholstery Cleaning products – available from Mayer Fabrics. Some Crypton® Patterns are Bleach Cleanable. Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite) has long been known for causing irreversible damage to textile fabrics. Crypton’s solution-dyed acrylic fibers used for indoor/outdoor applications can safely be specified, but it is important to know you can also specify any polyester Crypton® selections when it comes to placement for healthcare and hospitality use as well when bleach may be encountered.
For some specific healthcare concerns, such as C Difficile, a spore that requires bleach cleaning, the CDC (Center for Disease Control) instructions require a 10 percent bleach, 90 percent water mixture to effectively kill the growth. Any 100 % polyester Crypton® will safely withstand such cleaning, and there will not be any color loss after allowing the mixture to remain on the surface for the required 10-minute dwell time. Simply rinse the solution after cleaning using standard extraction equipment. Bleach cleaning, or bleach accidents will never affect the Crypton® barrier, but some fibers that are cellulosic like rayon can encounter color loss quickly when they come in contact with bleach. To be safe in installations where bleach contact may be possible, specifying polyester Crypton® is always a safe choice.

Coated Fabrics Cleaning
When a spill/stain occurs wipe immediately with a clean dry cloth. Carefully remove the majority of the stain then follow the steps below.

Soap & Water
Remove ordinary dirt and smudges with a mild soap and water solution using a soft cloth or towel. Rinse with fresh water and wipe dry.

Non-abrasive Cleaners
If residue remains, use a straight application of the following cleaners: Fantastik® or 409® and gently clean with a soft cloth. Rinse with fresh water and wipe dry.

Isopropyl Alcohol
More stubborn stains may be eliminated using a cotton cloth soaked in 70-91% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Wipe without spreading stain to surrounding area. A second application should be applied with vigorous rubbing in a circular motion. For highly textured material, a soft brush is recommended to clean valleys and crevices. Rinse with fresh water and wipe dry.

Bleach Cleaning
1 part bleach, 9 parts water = 10% bleach, 90% water solution. Do not clean/disinfect fabric for longer than 10 minutes using the 10% bleach solution. Always rinse promptly with clean water after applying the bleach solution and wipe dry. Failure to do so will void any and all warranties.

Product WarrantiesPDF

Standard Warranty
Mayer Fabrics warrants all shipments are in accordance with ACT Standards. All of our products are designed for a specific end use and are engineered to perform satisfactorily under reasonable commercial conditions. We guarantee each shipment to be of first quality and produced to industry standards.

This warranty covers normal wear and tear from the date of invoice to the original purchaser when used for appropriate applications in a single shift environment for a two year period. All materials must be properly installed and maintained. Warranty periods for multiple shift environments vary. Contact Mayer Fabrics for information on a multi shift warranty.

This warranty does not cover damage, disintegration or loss arising from abuse, misuse, vandalism, burns, cuts, punctures, *dye transfer, improper installation, insufficient seam allowance, **inadequate stitches per inch, the use of improper cleaning agents or methods, lack of cleaning, application of a post treatment (after shipment by Mayer Fabrics), defects in design or manufacture of seating, inadequate padding, abrasion from other furniture components, ***the use of polyurethane as welt cord, any use other than intended, or use subsequent to ownership by the original seating purchaser.

Mayer Fabrics is not responsible for any slight variances in pattern repeats as they are approximate. Allowances should be made when calculating yardage requirements.

Colorfastness performance applies only when material is used as specified. Outdoor use of an indoor product voids the warranty. Colorfastness to ultraviolet light is also excluded as conditions of usage may vary.

If a seating fabric fails to perform as warranted herein, Mayer Fabrics will provide a credit of the purchase price to be applied to future orders or offer replacement of the fabric with a mutually agreed upon replacement of the same value. Replacement credits/reimbursements will under no circumstances include labor costs. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the fabric.

*Dye transfer can occur in any environment where light colors of fabrics are used and exposed to the pigments in dark clothing. Once the dye has penetrated the material it is very difficult to get clean and the stains are often permanent.

**As with most standards, it is a good idea to test a piece of material for correct stitches per inch with your proposed settings to ensure proper seam strength. Material weight and content can play a role in determining the final stitches per inch for a successful seam.

***The use of welt cord on polyurethane in residential and commercial upholstery applications is discouraged. When used as trim in extremely high abrasion areas, welt is subject to wear.

Except as expressly provided herein, Mayer Fabrics makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranty or merchantability or fitness of its products for any particular purpose, and hereby disclaims the same.

Warranty ‘10’ Seating Ten Year
Mayer Fabrics warrants its ‘10’ seating fabric products against ‘wear through’ in normal indoor use for a period of ten (10) years from the date of invoice to the original purchaser. ‘Wear through’ is defined as a hole caused by disintegration of the fabric’s structure in a particular area as a result of abrasive wear.

Should a failure qualifying under this definition occur during the 10-year warranty period, Mayer Fabrics will use its discretion to either repair or replace the affected fabric, including labor and materials, subject to receiving prompt written notice during the warranty period.

This warranty does not cover damage, disintegration or loss arising from abuse, misuse, vandalism, burns, cuts, punctures, improper installation, use of improper cleaning agents or methods, application of a finish treatment after shipping by Mayer Fabrics, defects in design or manufacture of seating, inadequate padding, abrasion from other seating components or furniture, any use other than normal indoor seating, or use subsequent to ownership by the original seating purchaser.

Except as expressly provided herein, Mayer Fabrics makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranty or merchantability or fitness of its products for any particular purpose, and hereby disclaims the same.

Sunbrella® ‘5’ Seating Five Year Warranty
Sunbrella® Contract fabrics are covered by a 5-year limited performance warranty from the date of invoice to the original purchaser, when used for seating applications. This warranty protects against Sunbrella Contract fabric becoming unserviceable due to color or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight, mildew, bleach cleaning and atmosphere chemicals. This warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning or use of improper cleaning agents or methods; damage from misuse or abuse; vandalism, improper fabrication; inadequate padding or abrasion from other seating components or furniture, or costs associated with replacement of the fabric, including labor and fabrication; or use subsequent to ownership by the original purchaser. Liability is expressly limited to this warranty, and fabric inspection may be required prior to servicing a claim. Mayer Fabrics can provide a copy of the manufacturer’s warranty.

If Sunbrella® Contract fabrics fails to perform during the 5-year warranty period, new equivalent fabric will be supplied to replace the fabric that becomes unserviceable upon written request by the customer.

Except as expressly provided herein, Mayer Fabrics makes no representation or warranties, express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability or fitness of its products for any particular purpose, and herby disclaim the same.
